Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Secretary for Justice Mr Rimsky Yuen SC calls on Senior Minister of State for Law Indranee Rajah

The Hong Kong Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen SC, made a visit to the Ministry of Law on 2 April 2013. Mr Yuen had a discussion with Senior Minister of State Indranee Rajah, and expressed his admiration of Singapore’s legal system and Singapore’s growth as an arbitration hub. Ms Rajah also applauded Hong Kong for their long-standing reputation of being an arbitration friendly venue and indicated that it would be useful to have ongoing dialogue on how to encourage more parties to choose an Asian seat for arbitration. Both Mr Yuen and Ms Rajah agreed that with such growth of arbitration in Asia, both Singapore and Hong Kong will benefit from the increase in cases and activity. Mr Yuen and Ms Rajah also exchanged views on the latest developments in areas especially on arbitration, legal services and law reform. Both sides had a good discussion and affirmed their desire to strengthen the bilateral ties between Singapore and Hong Kong.
