Issuance of Correction Direction under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act to Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam

The Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong has instructed for a Correction Direction, under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA), to be issued to Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam in respect of his article on The Ricebowl Singapore (TRS) website, Facebook post, X post and LinkedIn post on 21 August 2023. In the article and the said posts, Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam made multiple untrue statements on multiple subjects.

Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam will be required to carry correction notices on TRS website, his Facebook page, X account and LinkedIn account, which state that the said article and posts contain false statements of fact and provide a link to the Government’s clarification. This will allow readers to read both versions and draw their own conclusions.
