Issuance of Correction Directions under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act to The Online Citizen and “Twenty Two Thirty”

- The Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law Mr Edwin Tong has instructed for Correction Directions, under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act 2019 (POFMA), to be issued to the following for their publications which communicate false statements of fact concerning the rental of and works carried out at 26 Ridout Road:
i. The Online Citizen, for its article dated 14 February 2025, reposted on The Online Citizen’s accounts on Facebook and X; and
ii. “Twenty Two Thirty”, for its video posted on YouTube on 16 February 2025.
- The Online Citizen and “Twenty Two Thirty” are required to publish Correction Notices on their respective original publications. These notices will state that the content communicates false statements of fact, and provide a link to the Government’s clarification.
